Was just told by a friend that Subway restaurants have now overtaken the number of McDonald’s outlets in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Isn’t true?

After doing a quick check, it look as if my friend is telling truth. This is a trend that is expected to continue throughout the European continent over the coming years. Subway is even being recognized as the fastest growing franchise in the world. Subway currently has about 31,814 outlets whereas McDonald’s has about 31,000 (but the data is 2.5 years old).  Subway is very aggressive, don’t you think so?
